SRD rules again 1

Just got my new 3inch english bridle strop in tonight and luuuuuvin it.Of course right of the bat I got a very shallow cosmetic flapnick on it.Murphy's law strikes again. No mattuh gonna sand it ever so lightly and we'll be right as fog once again.But I gotta say....this thing is gonna spoil me rotten. It's like driving a fine automobile . Beeeeaaauuuuuteeeeee !!!! When I go to use my regular 2 inch strop I won't remember how to do an X pattern anymore haha ! SRD...you rock my Straight shavin world. Everything you guys(Don N Lynn) sell is gold and I really mean it.And that Blood Orange soap....Heeeeeaaaven ! Thanks again. I can't for the life of me understand why they or whomever back in the old days didn't just make 3 inch strops the standard instead of 2 inch in the first place. It seems to be a no brainer. No mattuh again though...I got my strop and I'm a happy shaver yeeeeeee !!!:y

I hope not. What the hell use would a Gold straight be to anyone, except to sell it for a higher price and buy a car load of steel straights. :)

That bridle really is a great strop. The thing I love about it is the feedback--you can really feel/hear if you're making good contact & how much pressure you're using.

And yeah, that blood orange soap is amazing! A great combination is that, & then Pinaud Clubman Vanilla for A/S. :D

Indeed....I love all the Clubman scents just about.I have not tried the vanilla yet.Might have to make that next on the list.Imagine how enhanced that might be with the SRD bourban vanilla shave soap. The only Clubman scent I haven't been big on so far was the Lilac Vegetal.Oh yeah and I called SRD about the nicks.They recommended using a very fine pumice stone or very fine sandpaper and then just a little neatsfoot oil to fix er'up. Same for me on the Lilac vegetol--the Pinaud version on me degraded to a Play-Doh smell after a few hours...:td

I have the Master Wellcomb version & it smells exactly like what it's supposed to--highly recommended if you like that scent.

Ah....thank you again for the tip.I remember Lilacs growin everywhere when I was growin up back in Northern Michigan.People can say what they want,but I love the smell of'em ,and yes play-doh....good analogy on that one haha.Hmmmmm.....I wonder if SRD would ever consider that scent for a shave soap ? You got that backwards. We're on top of the world here. Some silly bugger just assembled the globes upside down. :). All is good here, just got back from a weekend on the motor-cicle and still a little hung-over from a (rare) big night on the booze with some mates.
Nothing like sitting around a fire with good mates, a guitar, a flute and some beer and/or bourbon (both in our case). Playing music and singing till the early hours of the morning. I just suffer more for it these days. I'm a long way from 20 years old, and I tend to forget that sometimes.
As an aside to all that, I also had the oppurtunity to show one of my mates the art of the straight shave (I needed someone with first aid training on hand, since I was hung-over after-all :).) Got away with it, though I did nick myself 3 times, normally I don't nick myself at all. My mate will be buying a straight razor (and gear) in the coming weeks now, which I think is great.

Ahh..more converts. It's a movement I tell ya. One day the fivebladed beastie and his goo can accomplice shall awake to find the world changed,and for the better I say ! As for yer hangover....nothin that a nice plate of sausages and eggs and some coffee,juice and milk won't help out. That and maybe sweet words from the girlfriend if ya got one. Only if you're an Ocker and/or like being punched in the face a lot. A lot of the little 'Aussie' colloqialisms are dying out and being taken over by what is sen as the far more socially acceptable 'Americanisms'. Bloke/Sheila is now Guy/s, Cobber is now Buddy, we hear things like A$$ instead of Ar$E etc. Personally I see it as a loss of identity as a nation. However, I'm half Welsh so my opinion probably doesn't account for much.:)
