My Kanayama Supecial Quality strop with handles is my go to strop. Not the "u" behind the "S". I guess it is not as thick as the top shelf Kanayamas but thicker ain't necessarily better. It will survive you unless, maybe, you are a professional honemeister.

In general I am as Abraham Lincoln said, "a man can be as happy as he makes up his mind to be." :) As far as the strop goes ...., I bought a 90,000 back when Scott at Rasage Poulin was the distributor for the high end Kanayamas. I haven't ever used it. I take it out of the box every now and again and stroke the leather with my fingertips. The thought that I might miscue with a razor ...... :eek:
Yup, this Kanayama user is very happy with it's performance!
I think it has the perfect amount of draw, the second leather my 90000 came with is really nice too.
the third strop is a strange creature, it feels very coarse on the razor, but really isn't. I enjoy this set a lot.
ah my 8ok came today, what a piece of kit. the second leather is like sheep skinn and so nice and the leather is perfect draw as every one else says. i will be using this on a daily basis. i also got a free japanese razor which is real nice thanxs JimR
