New SRD Horse Hide Strop
Hi Gents,
I just received my new SRD Horse Hide strop today. This thing is beautiful, with a very unique pattern in the leather, almost like large leopard spots.
I followed the recommendation of using a very small amount of neetsfoot oil on the palm of my hand to palm rub it.
I ordered it with the SRD fabric strop instead of the nylon webbing. I like it a lot.
I stropped my Filarmonica DT14 and shaved - very nice. Unique draw and it did a great job. I highly recommend it and would buy another.

Glad you like it! SRD's strops are first rate and very fairly priced. Take care of your strop and it will serve you well.

The SRD strops are amazing. Quality and beauty together. SRD is selling strops that truely meet the straight shave bench mark, quality that you would enjoy using for a lifetime.
I'm really hoping an SRD strop is on my procurement list for 2011. I have gone way too long in holding off for one of these.

I've heard nothing but good things about them. I'm leaning toward the build-your-own strop with hard felt and some type of leather, I just can't make up my mind...

Depends what type of draw you prefer--lighter is perfectly served by the Prem 1--my new favorite strop. If you like heavy draw, maybe the buffalo (Prem 3). They're all good choices--in the end it comes down to what you personally prefer.

I have the Horse hide for my modular strop and I love it. Amazing draw, its is my favorite leather in the kit. I may have to start saving and pick up a full horse hide strop
