So pumice stone can't be talked about in grades or grits since it is a stone right? So the pumice stone that is used on feet would be just as good as any other piece of pumice for use on a strop then? If this thinking is accurate I would say that you could use your wife's pumice stone on a strop HarryA (my wife has one of those pumice stones as well I don't think that I'll be using it on any strops I treasure necessarily but it sounds like a good trick that would work if you were in a pinch)

Use the pumice stone and then sand the strop with 600 or finer sandpaper, that should work for you. I have cut the hell out of my TM latigo strop when I started, I've repaired a butt load of nicks on that thing...
