Hi,
I have this old strop belonging to my GGF.
Though the linen had a little cut in it near the edge, no big deal or nothing I cared about.
The problem is that it's starting to unravel more.
I was just wondering if there is anyway I could fortify the edges to prevent further unraveling? and to protect the unraveled piece?
Is there anybody who has any experience or thoughts?
Any input is welcome,

Is it just fraying or actually unraveling ? If it is just fraying I don't think you have to worry. You could use something like Elmer's Glue on it. In direct glue downs of carpet on concrete I've seen pros use that to seal seams. Might not be friendly to the edge of the razor though. :shrug:
Simple solutions to slow or stop the fraying would be Elmers glue(+1 to JimmyHAD) or to knead beeswax into the area. If you wanted a more permanent solution, I'd take it to a fabric conservator. Being a small area, it might not cost a lot.
It unraveled a bit at first, but I don't think it's getting worse at this point, it is just fraying a bit atm. I'm just a little careful and 'afraid' for it to start unraveling for real, so I felt the urge to ask.
Though with regular light touch stropping it doesn't seem to do any further damage. I just wanted some piece of mind I guess, it never hurts to ask

If it is coming undone, all it needs is a seam stitch.
