felt strops

Lynn, I'm just curious, do you mean (from your post two above) that you wouldn't mind using a felt strop in place of leather? Like I mentioned earlier, I found that just using the felt on my Bengall - only the Bengall - worked just fine by itself. I chalked it up to the harder (I'm guessing) steel used in its production. At the end of the day, it was a very good shaver and I have enjoyed shaving with it. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I would not change from leather as my finishing strop. I have used the felt in place of linen or poly webbing though and it has worked well on a stand alone basis.

Thanks Lynn, I know you're busy - You know, what I have to do is get myself a loop, I'm just really curious as to what effect the various strops and hones and such have on my razors. Now, if I wasn't just so darned far-sighted I would be all set.
