My shame
honed one of my razors today to absolute perfection (very worn Charlex #60), gave it a few laps on my shiny brand new diy glass pasted balsa strop.

(the glass didn't quite break as I wanted it, but this worked out nicely too in my humble opinion)
then went & put it in a glass of barbicide while I prepped everything else for a test shave..
I bumped into the countertop & saw the razor shift.. it hit the edge of the glass very gently with the very very tip.
I figured it'd just have blunted the very tip, not the end of the world on that razor..
so I took it out & started stropping on felt, 120 laps, and 60 laps on leather.
beautiful shave :)
so as part of my routine, I stropped it again, 20 on felt, and 20 on leather..
but now after the first 3 strokes on the leather, I noticed something. something terrible.
very mild scratches on my new strop! :<
they're purely cosmetic, but WHAT A SHAME.

they're so slight they only show up under a very specific light angle, but they're still there. :P
on the other hand, things like this just show that it's lived. :)
what I gather that did this would be that the edge folded over when it bumped the glass, and then proceded to scratch the strop when I stropped it..
i've rehoned & slightly muted the tip now to prevent this from getting worse.
