Just as a funny, I think the Torquemada (Spanish Inquisition) used it as a nutcracker.

try it with a DE blade..see where it goes...
It shouldn't have much of an effect, if any at all, on modern de blades as the sharpness comes mostly from the coating in the blade. It would have been made for the older de blades, such as the Gillette blue blade you have in the stropper.
