Lynn's modular paddle strop
I have my scrub leather with the chromium oxide, one hard wool felt with the .5 diamond and one clean hard wool felt. It serves me well to keep up the sharpness of the blades and like Jymmy said, tame a harsh edge after honing. Personally I don't use the leather. I find it not as good as my strop. Double O

Thanked: 118Hi, I was looking at the LAMP myself as something to use after honing, also possibly using the premium leather for daily stropping. The kit comes with two pieces of hard wool felt, one piece each of scrub leather and premium leather, and one bottle of 0.5 micron diamond spray but there is of course the option to add additional diamond sprays and/or chromium oxide.
What would be the general recommendation for combination of materials/pastes/sprays and order of use? Would you go minimum or maximum or something in between? How many laps would you do for each step?
Minimum:
- wool felt with 0.5 micron DS
- wool felt, plain
- premium leather, plain
Maximum:
- wool felt with 1.0 micron DS
- wool felt with 0.5 micron DS
- scrub leather with 0.25 micron DS
- premium leather, plain

Thanked: 16I use mine with CrOx on the felt pad to touch up razors. 15 laps. For travel I bring a plain felt pad and leather pad.

Lynn's modular paddle strop
Mine came today and I have to say I was very impressed.
Even better than I imagined it would be, as others have mentioned its flexible (and fixable).
I think this would be a great choice for just about everyone.
