I never paste my daily driver. I reserve pastes for specialized bench strops, balsa ..... take an old belt and cut it up. Glue the smooth side to something reasonably flat and you have a bench strop. Paste that. AFAIC daily pasted stropping is too much a good thing. IMHO.
Thanks for the response, Jimmy. I generally don't strop the mesh at all - I just strop the leather. So, it just seems convenient to paste the mesh since it's right there. If it were a linen piece maybe I'd use it first like many do, but I don't think the mesh does so much without paste unless I'm mistaken. All of this is just going by what I'm reading so I don't really know.Quote:

My wife has her own bathroom and then I share mine with the little one. It's been like that for a month without getting the good one wet because I always leave the poor man in front and spin the leather to the back. Who knows what I'll do when she can reach up there and grab it to play dress up or whatever the heck she'd do with it. :jedi: By that point I'll have to get a little pelican box or something to lock my razors inside the medicine cabinet.
I'd just get a paddle or something and paste it. Once you do it, you can't undo it. So, be sure.
IMHO, I think the paste would work better on leather, balsa, or some kind of linen. I'm not sure about the mesh.

I've tried a lot of different pastes, sprays, etc...Diamond paste, 1.0, .5 and .25, Diamond spray .50, Crox paste, powder and spray, CBN 160k spray.
The one I keep coming back to is SRD's .50 Diamond spray on wool felt. You do like 10 swipes when your finished honing, just to take the blade to the next level. It's good stuff.
Wool Felt + .50 Diamond Spray = :tu
