Smith's earlier Old Man Drinking a Glass of Beer (1898), A Quick Shave and Brush-Up is a vehicle for the Brighton comedian Tom Green, whose various grimaces when shaving and grooming himself constitute the entertainment. It's also a record of a time when cut-throat razors were a standard part of a gentleman's toiletry kit.

Speedy and he missed a few spots. Not sure what the real purpose of the flick was unless part of a bigger skit but it was kind of cool to watch.

interesting video, but i have a feeling he was already cleaned shaved before he started the shave, like 10pups said looks like he missed a few spots.

I don't think the razor was sharp. After shaving that fast and "wavy" I would have my lips and cheeks hanging in strips....

......and more hand stropping, like on the Maestro Livi video that is out there.

Some modern day youtuber should replicate this entire setup, complete with shaving mirror , atomizer, et al. I would love to see a modern re-creation of this scene. Would be a wonderful homage to this brilliant short film.

I have the same mirror but not the guts to do that not in this life time!!!
