Just before I started to look for a replacement blade for the scales I decided to try to restore and save the original blade. Since the blade's neck was quite long I managed to file and sand the broken pivot hole into a typical old french-style rounded shape with no tail (like I assumed it looked before it broke), I then drilled a new hole in the neck. The scales were my biggest concern though, since ivory is so thin and fragile I really worried to handle with it. I carefully saw both sides of where the crack was started, I then sanded it into a rounded shape similar to its original shape, drilled new holes, pinned a nickel-silver rod with similar rounded cap pins and gave it a good clean with Mother's Mag, here you can see the final results which I'm very pleased with : rock:
