I got these twin henckels some time ago and I was curious what I need to do in order to get them back up to working/aesthetic order. I don't have any power tools, so hand sanding is what I have at my disposal. The honewear on these guys is pretty rough, and I was hoping for a few veteran's opinions on the best course of action.

I have brought back razors in much worse condition! I have seldom seen Henckles in that shape. Those are good to clean up. I would not regrind them but just use a couple layers of tape for honing and that, only if needed. If sometime in the future a regrind is wanted then contact a known contributor here in the classified.

Thanks bud, I certainly appreciate the advice. I have hand sanded some blades but none of them have had honewear marks like this. What do you think would be a good starting grit for them?

Have fun, they should clean up nicely in a very little time. Hone wear is only about geometry and the razor could be honed flat and after the cleanup and would look nice..to me and a few others that like to see the life of the razor. If the edge did not come in a reasonable amount of honing, then use tape. the flat honing after cleanup will give the blade a nice character...in my opinion. others may differ!
