Hey all, My eyes are hurting from hours of reading the forums...but I just can't stop reading, I'm learning so much.
I started to read about pin replacement, but I'm still just as de de de about it. I found where to get the rods and washers in another thread, but am still unaware how it is that you set the pin in place. Can anyone give me an idea of how it is done?
Assemble the brass rod and washers so that the #0 washers to on the outside of the scales and the #0W washers between the scales and the tang. Cut the rod stock to fit and peen from both sides with a 0.5lb ballpeen hammer. Having a small anvil (I use 11lb) helps. Another trick is to gently peen from one side until you get something like a brass nail (speaking of which, that would be your best solution lol) so you only have to peen from one side while holding the assembly together.
