If you are considering putting the shorter razor in the longer scales, it should work. The wedge may have to be altered for correct fit.

Oh my ,,, your going to leave the other razor naked ?
It's an absolute wreck. It bums me out as well as it was a really meaty blade made in Massachusetts. Can't make out the mfg due to corrosion. ??DY MFG Co, Worcester, Mass is all that is visible

Bummer. Might make a good letter opener though. You may check out the how to's listed above. You can get pin material at the local hobby shop. Nickel may not be there but you can always use brass and like shaving,,,if you go slow and be careful it's really not that hard. If it's your only razor I understand not wanting to risk being without scales and it does require some basic tools.
There are chunks missing form the donor blade. Big ones. the whole toe and two large chips. I'm sure it could be turned into a stubby short trimmer but the work involved would be ludicrous. I just don't have any of the kit, work surfaces, or time to change the scales.

With that said, even though the pins etc 'May' line up it may not work! Only someone with a lot of experience with straights will be able to tell you if it will work!
I recently received several razor from a friend for clean up and honing and one had broken scales at the pivot and another that was of a configuration that the owner didn't want had very nice scales.
I sent the two razors to Glen (GSSIXGUN) and asked him to replace the good scales on the razor that had the broken scales. The pins lined up and I saw no problem. I was WRONG!
Thanks to Glen's vast knowledge of razors he knew that for some reason it wouldn't work!
He had a pair of nice slightly used scales and used those.
I think that what I'm saying is that things aren't always as simple as they look! :shrug:
