Thanks everyone. What sort of metal polish should I get?
If you're going for a mirror finish, I'd recommend either Flitz (if you can find it... found mine at my local gun store) or Mother's Mag & Aluminum Polish (just about any auto parts store should have it). Either one should suit you just fine!
If you don't wanna pick up a dremel (which might be safer, since as stated earlier can be the fastest way to ruin the temper of a blade) you can use either polish and a terrycloth or microfiber rag and still get outstanding results... but just like the sanding, it'll take longer.
Fantastic job, man! :)
Great looking first restore! Excellent decision to do it fully by hand. I have a variable speed dremel and I didn't even think about touching it untill I was on my fourth restore. Even now I only use the sanding buffs and only if I absolutely have too, quiet frankly the thing scares the hell out of me. I use Mother's polish and just use those disposable blue shop towels (like papertowel), I've also used newspaper with great results. Once again great work and I'm looking forward to seeing the finished project.
A lil elbow grease and some good polish will shine that bad boy up.. Try Maas or blue magic and some mothers mag wheel polish.. Blue magic I just started trying by recommendations by guys from here its fantastic and u can use it on scales.. Good luck great job..I've had success polishing with dremels but its much safer doing it by hand..
