Holy crap it was crazy! I restore by hand so it took for ever! Had to redo the edge because it was all jacked up! Well she looks ok now! She is not a show razor but shaves well and the craters on the blade give character

Good job Robert! Hand sanding is a pain sometimes.
You may want to start thinking about replacement scales though. In looking at the "before" photo it looks like a bit of cell rot there. Since most all of the rust looks like it was only along the bottom of the blade and tang where the scales sit, that can be of concern. If that's the case, eventually the gasses from the scales will start to eat into the blade again. Someone else may see it differently, but I'd replace the scales just to be safe (for the sake of this blade as well as any others that sit in the same box.

Great advise! I will definitely take it into account! I have enough wood to choose from to make some scales! I am kinda looking forward to it...
