Has anyone used Kirinite as scale material sold at USAknifemaker? Looks like interesting material. Any flex to it like horn or is it stiff?

I like it but too thin and it gets brittle... Enough flex but not in abundance

Wapi in white is white kirinite... Scales cracked... It's back in the stainless scales
Now I use the white kirinite as wedges
I've worked with it briefly on another set when the stuff firt came out, it's a dream to work with. Due to it being brittle this time I am lining it with .06 g10 and making the kirinite layer very very thin, which I think will be really nice as I am using a white contrast liner on black MOP kirinite
I've seen Val from The Gentlemens Den make a bunch of scales with it, I think he said it was hard to work with. The results are really nice though, I especially like the scales that he's made from the toxic green and the royal blue kirinite. Don't recall him complaining about it being thin though, or anything else for that matter, just that it was a pain to work with.
I personally don't have any scales made of kirinite as or yet, just as a wedge in my Ern...toxic green in between translucent blue acrylic.
I never did anything with mine because when it gets warm ( and I mean warm from the air @ 80 degrees) it gets soft. And it only feels stiff enough to me when it's cold. Now that is when it is in full sheet form and that gives me a little more leverage but still....
I bought a couple of set of Kirinite. The first piece snapped in half when I tried to thin out the pivot end of some scales. I still have a piece of the toxic green Kirinte. I was going to try again to make some scales, but then I realized that the pieces aren't book matched. They are obviously cut from a larger sheet, as I can position the pieces so they look like part of a puzzle. Once I realized that, I didn't want to invest any more time in them, at least for razor scales.
Lately, I have been using USA Knife Maker's G10 for scales, and I like it much better than the Kirinite.
Just talked to Val, he said it's very durable and tough as nails. As for it getting soft, he said it doesn't get any softer than anything else when it heats up...
