the process went south fairly quick..........
and finally, the AFTER pic! my wife gave me wolverine so im feelin preeeeety tough (though im crying inside.....)
Just make sure you get any blood off the blade,It will tarnish it.
Ouch!! I feel your pain for sure my friend!!
Been there and done that more than I care to tell!!
Wolverine will surely lead the way!!!

I just like the bandaid..... Well the blade to.
Mend up and share the finished project when you get there as I am sure you will.
I've done it before. Sanding away on a blade and, oooops!! It'll heal up, and yes, love the bandaid. :)
OUCH!!! :gth
I know right?! the bandaid wasn't my idea, my wife just knows how to make the boo boo feel better....distraction! and im taking it easy today so we are going on a date, boy if cutting my finger is all it takes to get a date..... lets see, ive got 1,2,3,4,....9 more!!!! woooohoo for me!
Last one I did that on was almost a butterknife, just enough to graze the first layer. At least with the sharpness of these things they don't scar.
Nice one! Good wife ya got there too. Last one I got like that I dropped a straight and dummy me I tried to catch it. Yeah. Saved the blade but cut the hell outa my fingerS. Lol.
Don't scar my Azz,this was from an 8/8 palmera, lost the nerves in my thumb.

Hate when I dull a razor dragging it across bone!
I thought that it was the Thumb Pad Test or Hanging Hair Test not the Hanging Thumb Test... Seriously though that is a wicked reminder of what can happen. Thanks for sharing pixel and I'm only using humor to try to ease the pain.
im itching to finish the restore but in the meantime im having a heck of a time trying to strop today! that little finger was more essential to the process than i realized, my whole technique revolves around that finger, literally. perhaps ill brush up on my ambidextrous stropping technique???? hmmmmm, can you say "looks like we're gonna need a new strop....." (nick, flip, nick, slice, flip, rrrrrrrrrgh!)
Good time to try palm stropping perhaps...? Just throwin it out there. :rofl2:
when I said no scar, I meant normal use, not gravity induced surgery :\
heres the razor finished, had a hard time getting good pics.......
Nice work! You literally put some blood, sweat, and tears into that razor.
haha, yes I did! for some reason I don't see this thread on the list in the custom builts and restorations section anymore, any idea why?
Usually builds go in workshop, final restores etc go in custum builds and restores. Ive had mine moved before ;-)
Id just make a seperate one there, either way, razor looks great!
You might consider making one of these, sure makes things safer for you and the blade when handsanding:

Very nice, Scott.
I've gotten by with a simple 2x4x6. This 2x4 cut has just the right rounding of the edges to assist in bringing the rest of the blade in parallel with the face of the 2x4(spine hanging off a wee bit).
For my kung fu grip preventer, its equally as crude.
Looked around outside. Found two quickly. A nubby stick comfortable to the hand but tapered enough as one end where I can put a strip or two of that razor shipping bubblies under cut strips of wet and dry sandpaper over the "tapered" end. All retained by a rubber band. When I'm wearing a spot on the sandpaper, I simply unwrap one side of the rubber band and slide the paper forward/backward over the end or replace it.
I had some scraps of laminate flooring laying around from laying flooring at the barber shop and I use the smooth backside, lay the razor blade flat and sand away, keeps the edge from being as exposed and dangerous plus its very durable vs the abrasives
Great work.
Good thing for Wolverine!
