Wow, didn't know that Bill. Curious, what would a full grown tusk measure out to in length, and what would it weigh ........ on average ?

Is no average but 70/100 lbs was the norm back in the days of big game hunting,They did not live that long,esp after Getting a .505 Gibbs express in the brainbox.

I've read and re-read African Rifles And Cartridges, by John 'Pondoro' Taylor many times. Quite a book about the old pre-WWII days of ivory hunting in Africa. Not a hunter myself tho.
