I just inherited my Great Grandpa's double duck,my dad has kept decent care of it keeping it oiled although it does have some pits, the edge seems to look pretty good, no frown,I was wondering about the edge up on the point though and was wondering what you guys think,this might be my first restoring project.

If it were mine I would maybe clean between scales with Scrubbing Bubbles and a pipe cleaner, polish up the blade and bolsters with Mother's or something similar, hone it up and shave. If you have never honed a straight razor before I'd send it out to a pro so it will be done correctly.
Nice razor you inherited, something to treasure and be proud of.
I'm with Doughboy68 on that. An heirloom razor in the shape that one is in is best sent to a pro for a finer job of restoration. Alternatively get some less important razors in need of work and practice with those until you develop your skills. A pro could have that looking like new. :gl:

Good for you my man! An heirloom razor is something we all would like to have and that one will be really sweet when it is cleaned up and honed. Enjoy!
Nice... clean it up with some blue magic and keep it out of the sun and moisture. Looks like it only suffered a little in it's life. They have very thin blades so be careful with it.

Lovely piece! Great razor to own and shave with; not a rookie restoration as others have said..
Looks like it was pretty well taken care of, just needs a cleanup and the edge re- honed, ( looks like it has some extra wear near the tip). My vote's with these other guys, I wouldn't touch it without ample experience. Very nice piece to be handed down to you, hope you get lots of use out of it! :)
