Restoring papers?
I have no clue if anybody has experience with it, but I am hoping somebody does.
I have discovered the original paper wrapper for one of my razors, wadded up in a ball in the bottom of the original box.
I can see a portion of the company logo.
The paper is fairly brittle. Has anybody ever gone through the attempt to unwrap one of these ancient balls of history?
Perhaps soaking it in some sort of solution to soften it? blow soft steam at it? drops of glycerin or oil?
I know its not the restoration of a razor, but it is related, so I thought this might be the best place to post.
Please move elsewhere if not.
Thanks guys!

If you have a bit of time, I can ask my mum. She's a master book restorer, and if there is a way to do this, she will know.
That means, I will give her a call tomorrow morning, and don't try anything before I get back to you, because you might very well do the one thing you really shouldn't have done :)
She is better with paper than I am with steel.
Btw, a pic would be wonderful so I can show here what it is about.

Mist it with some warm water and slowly open it up. Mist again and open a bit more. Keep misting until you get it opened all the way.
Once open you can Iron with a warm iron or put a clean paper towel under and over and put some weight on it.
The one in the photos was in the bottom of a leather wrapped Clauss box.
Came out pretty good and only took a few minutes to get it flat with very little tearing. It was wadded in a 1/2 X 3/4 in ball.
