Working slowly through a lot of grime, a small bit of corrosion and a pair of tiny rust spots on this unpitted Columbia Cutlery Co. razor the darkening was very uniform from toe to tang. The few Columbia (Worchester, MA) razor photos I find are restored and polished to the max.
Is this age staining or was it blued? Gun experts and I are not sure. FWIW, this razor was very slow to hone; seemed like chips took forever to get gone.

I do not recall ever seeing any razors with the blade face blued but that does not mean there weren't any. I have seen razors that have had the tang and spine or just the tang blued. So I am leaning towards it being from aging.

Things are weird but not nightmare-weird. Brain pitted, razors fine. Still cannot drive and have what seems to me like an epic case of CRS; not sure though, since I can't always remember what I forgot. :D Mrs. Moo has me on a short leash.Quote:
