That's a fantastic tip Glen. So simple but makes so much sense. I have an old Frederick Reynolds in Sumac that I've tightened the pins on probably 5 times, and I just keep driving that washer deeper. I've stopped now because the washers are almost flush with the scales. I'll definitely be using this trick in the future.

Could pass as Lignum Vitae or even Verawood. Opposite end of the Janka scale though. As you said, very soft. These would have been an excellent candidate for Glens trick here. I really should have stabilized them or done as Glen showed here. Could have saved me the headache of the floppy razor I have now.
