Assuming you mean final polish, I like Maas and Mother's.
I live in an isolated area. Mothers is available locally so mothers it is. I cannot say that it is the best, as I have only used one other brand one time. It performs well enough that I never worry about ordering anything else.
I like blue magic
flitz has performed very well for me. Very rust inhibitive.
I've always had great luck with Flitz too.

I always had the best results with Semichrome.

my final polishes are 5000 grit W&D then to Autosol for metal & Ren Wax for non metal surfaces
My final polish is luxor orange on a fluffy cotton mop. Before that usually just the Caswell blue bar
Flitz all the way and never look back!
Mother's for me.
Autosol in Australia - it seems to be available in the US too, but you guys have many other alternatives. I use it on plastics that are looking a bit rough too, but it does leave minute scratches on plastic so I'd recommend an automotive cut and polish cream for that kind of work.
I've used 3, autosol, Flitz, and Mothers Mag. I find autosol worked really well, but I hate the smell. Flitz I use when I can't find my Mother's Mag. But Mothers Mag is my favorite.
I found the opposite to be true with the mothers having a really strong smell. I also have problems woth it seperating and needing to be mixed before use. I do think it leaves a slightly better finish than autosol though, but not as good as buffer compounds.
I find all the above to work well! I do like to use a cerium oxide polish. I have found a headlight polishing product to be best for a final on plastics and softer metals. Not cheap but a good performer.
MAAS in the tube for most any polishing. The tube is different than the plastic bottle product which seems a lot coarser. A little goes a long way!.

I have been using Meguiar's "Ultimate Compound" with great success. I use a good car polish afterwards to protect the finish.
