Autosol, Flitz, mag polish all work well
Only thing I would add to this is to cover your etching with fingernail polish before going at it with these products.Quote:

It is true that these will remove the tarnish. They will also kill the edge on your razor, so be very careful. It will polish the steel and make the pitting less visible but the pitting will still be there. In order to remove the pitting you would have to remove all the metal around it until it is the same thickness as the pitting. It is quite a bit of steel compared to the tiny amount of pitting. I would just use the polish.
