Have you seen...
Is there a pattern archive for scales? There is some artistry to the proprtions of scales. I wonder if anone has made tracings of vintage scales for reference and posted them somwhere.
It might be a handy place to start for someone like me, not especially artistically inclined.
Perhaps there is a "golden mean" or fomulae someone has come up with.
Thanks

The safest way till you understand the ergonomics is just trace your old scales and Ray not to stray too far away from the norm. Stropping gets to be tough after getting the scales "artistically" designed. But I don't know of any database we have for tha, different size and shape of blades will determine sizing, but the shapes remain pretty consistent with your originals other than maybe the wedge end of the scales, Tc

There is a PDF that has quite a few. I have no idea how to get it to upload though. I did get it from a post on here. Sorry I don't have a link for you.

You are correct. It is on the site somewhere. I downloaded it a long time ago.

What I have done recently, is to have someone give me a picture with dimensions on the blade as well as any preferences or inclinations on the design. Then I can send you a PDF of a full scale drawing that you can use.
