Say you were trying to reuse four collars from an old razor for a restoration and one of them was in worse shape than the other three - where would you put it? I'm not sure of an easier way to name the pin locations other than show-side pivot, show-side wedge, back-side pivot, back-side wedge. So, that's also a question - is there any convention for naming the pin locations? 1st base, 2nd base, 3rd base, shortstop?
I think you pretty much nailed the terminology. I would try to find a crap razor on the bay with the same washer for a parts razor, trade for one from someone here, or worse case put it on the non show side pivot (my 2 cents).
Post up a pic, someone may have a few that match tucked away.
No better advice can be said, unless you have a lathe amd a bunch of time on your hands
These are the collars, the old flowery type and kind of hard to come by. The one I thought was "bad" was the one missing one petal (A) and I was just going to use it anyway because it didn't bother me too much. But when it came time to pin I discovered another collar (B) was falling apart around the inner hole, the metal is very thin across the top like tin foil, unusable. So, I ended up using different collars entirely. I will always keep an eye out for these flowery collars, though maybe be able to use them in the future.

AJ is a member here and makes excellent collars, though I don’t think he makes that exact one, but you could file his domed brass collar to match.
Personally if the collars don’t match I make or buy new ones.
