I do have a 3d printer i build myself, and does the job pretty well... i was wondering if anyone has tried ABS or PLA 3dprinted scales... i'm thinking in trying it, however, not sure if ABS would be a good material to try... anyone has tried ABS for scales? it's the plastic that LEGOs are made of...
PLA is more brittle and it's also biodegradable (if thrown in the garbage will take like 6 months).. so that's why i'm moved to use ABS instead...
anyway... comments? :popcorn:

I'm also interested in how it would work out in terms of cost in money / time.
You won't be the first or the last. I have seen some but I don't remember the plastic for sure. Some interesting designs etc. If the material could handle the flexing many times I think that would be no issue. The ones I saw I think could be very practical but the main negative is that they looked cheap to me. I wouldn't put a nice vintage blade into them.
P.S. I should also add they felt cheap. I hope that makes sense!:D
