Unconventional, but nice. Good work. :)

now I know who beat me out of that razor by .50 cents http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...4702&rd=1&rd=1.
Nice restoration like the interesting scales.
Sorry Damon :w :D
But I think, the Razor is now not worser than before. Maybe I will sell it some times. Before this i must hone it. I´m very curious how it will shave. The steel is the hartest I ever see. It was nearly impossible to polish the blade. I needed a lot of time for it.
Might be a little tricky to hone to, if you do some more work to it post the photos.
It looks nice.
I'm kind of an unconventional guy and I think it turned out really fantastic!
Time for the first report. Yesterday I honed the razor and today I had my first shave.
What could I say? The honing was not difficult, in the truth very easy. I needed only one attempt, to get the razor to an ultimat sharpness. Waterstone 1000 and 6000, Thüringer, leather strab with Chromoxid green and leather.
In the past I had some W&B that where more tricky to hone...
The shave was very well and soft. This razor is one of my best. :bow
Well, his ebay name is beat-er - what do you expect :roflmao
Hard steel on a W&B - first time I hear this
The smooth edge and relative ease to hone that you reported later are something that W&B razors (and other Sheffields, in general) are known for :D
Cheers
Ivo
Very cool and unique...
If you can make it happen, then why not! This is just making me have ideas for mine now.. hehe
You are right, i dont made a rockwell test with the Blade. So I really coud not know, if they are harder than the others.
But I sanded and polished more then 15 Blades and neither was so hard to polished, like this. There was nearly no abrasive effect on the metall. I sanded the double of time, dry and wet with the sanding rolls for the dremel and the effect is minor to my other blades.
I have not an idea, why?
