It hasn't gotten much of a workout yet; it does stop with any more than medium pressure. I have since picked up a harbor freight buffer and a few wheels, I'll finally have some time tomorrow to use both of them a bit more. Now to find an empty cereal box around here somewhere...

I think you three are all a little inventive and I’d be pleased to share a coil of crab wire with you.
The shoe buffer convention is interesting. It may not have the power for serious buffing but it is likely going to be good for polishing scales and perhaps putting the final whammy on blades.

That stick is a 73 CZ 250 fork tube, filled with sand. I rest my feet on a Jeep spring shackle.

I do like to buff scales at low speed. I have two actual buffer, but choose to buff scales on my low speed drill mounted in a vice. The bowling ball vice and the drill chuck in the fork tube are both very handy, and I do have variations of both.

The buffer looks like a great idea, I like the using what you got philosophy.

Hey I got an old steam roller forks from an old dresser here, that would make a real solid stand pipe ,,,, no? Tc

lol, having now used the real buffer I totally agree that shoe buffer will be better for final polish type work. I'm super happy with that however, 1 less buffing wheel to change out :)

The bowling ball vice - wow - that is awesome.
