I have a John Sellers wedge with a curved blade with about the thinnest ivory scales. The problem is it has some chipping along the heel. Straight blades are tough enough for me, much less try to get this curved monster shave ready. Ideas? Anyone willing to help on this one? Or does it need to go to Lynn, Bill, or Joe?

It would probably involve some circular honing with most of the pressure on the heel, on the 1k (make sure you tape up the spine). Also don't get yourself carried away, burn through the tape and develop undue hone wear (experience talking) :w
off to one of them I would say all are a good choice

-45 degrees heel leading,
-x pattern,
-light change of weight from heel to tip throw the course,
-narrow stones (4-5 cm) but if you have norton 3", do it with norton.
in the beggining 60 deg and when the bevel is uniform change to 45 deg
In the lower grids tape the spine, but before you change grid, remove the tape and do some laps without tape
try first with 4000 grit and only if you feel that you need many many laps change to 1000

I know this post is nearly a year old now, but I would love to hear how that razor turned out.
I have just bought a 6/8+ oblique point version of this razor.
