I'd go with a felt pad on a rotary tool and some polishing compound. A free tip: cleaning tang jimps is easy with a wire brush
Free tips welcome! :tu Should the rotation be from spine to edge or does it matter?
As long as it's not rotating into the edge, you stand a pretty good chance of keeping both of your eyes in good working order and more importantly, the blade intact :nj
Another free advise: Be very, very careful using a powertool, even/especially a Dremel, around your precious straight, because all it takes is a millisecond's loss of control/concentration and the blade can be ruined. Speaking from experience here.
