Soaking Horn
I have an old Joseph Eliot wedge with some original horn scales. The scales seem a bit dry but not to an extreme degree. I have read that most people use neatsfoot oil for soaking but it is pretty hard to find that stuff here. Would mineral oil (baby oil) work too or it will cause some kind of damage to the scales?

You can use light mineral oil. I would not use baby oil because of the perfume. Neatsfoot is common in shoe stores around here.

You can find "pure" Neatsfood oil here in stores that sell horse equipment. Be sure it is "Pure" Neatsfoot oil to be on the safe side as the other version is a blend of neatsfoot oil and non animal oils.
