Thread: The Magic touch of the Outback

I've got a big humpback Freddy I've been thinking about hitting Machine Gun Mike up on. The blade is beautiful , but the horn scales are delaminating, the pins are hammered out, etc. I know my limitations-I'm a re-scaler much more than a restorer.

I have that very same blade and Mike put some nice wood scales on it for me. One of my favorite shavers.

Beautiful work by Mike on that one, Mr. Z-If I decide to rescale it, I can do that myself; in fact, I've considered it. But I have a few old Sheffield beauties that I'm trying to keep original-we'll see.

Yeah this one was terrible when I got it. It had some home made scales that were giant. It also had screwed up pins. It was an abomination, but the steel was still good. Somewhere on this site, Outback probably posted a before and after.
