Default The Magic touch of the Outback

I don't start a thread too often. However, this one is special. This is my straight razor. There are many like it, but this one is mine (Marines will understand this jargon). Just a while back, in fact about a week ago, I was able to get the straight razor that has eluded me for many years. Since I served in the Marines for many years, it was especially gratifying and special to obtain this straight razor. It is because of Hardeeo2020 and Outback that I was able to receive this gift. I have expressed my sincere gratitude to each of these men off line. Without each of them, this would not have been possible! It shaves like a dream!

So, Here it is - Clauss, Fremont, Ohio USMC Straight razor:

I wanting to say 6/8 to 11/16 - somewhere in that range. Mike had to find some good steel near the heel so I think he had to take a little off.

Nice acquisition. Glad that worked out for you. I'll have to show that to my brother in law. He was in Beirut.

Congrats on a nice razor. BTW, that saying is the same for the Army too.

Sorry I didn't include the U.S. Army. No disrespect intended! I just didn't know they did that, but it does make sense.

So, for those that don't understand, it's the rifleman's creed. The Marines and U.S. Army instill this creed into every recruit when they are in basic training. Here it is:

John, nice post, very generous on Hardeeo’s part and especially of Mike, to think of and restore it for you.

Nice work Mike, nice gesture, especially today, 9/11.

I love the Clauss’ and have a few, very well ground, and super shavers. I also love that logo. Some of the old ones had cool rounded boxes in burgundy leather, with the logo writ large, I have a couple.

    Enjoy John

Here is an old post of a Clauss find. Notice the TNT warning in the packaging that came with this razor, near new.

    (TNT old school advice?)

Outback has sprinkled magic on a few blades of mine, and I will second the statement that he does fabulous work. I am a big fan of his and very grateful of his skills.

Even I have a razor blessed by Outback. When you need something done right....

One of my earliest razors I didn't want to screw up and Mike wanted to try the mixed colored horn.
