Schick Injector razor handle removal .......

Today I was trying to decide which of the Schick Injector razors to keep.
I couple of them have very good heads and another couple had handles that I like a lot, the marbled handles. :)
So, what does it take to swap handles?
I Googled and Youtubed the question and they had nothing.
So, I found one that had an amber-colored transparent handle and that showed me how it was held together.
I decided to try boiling water and it worked! :)
When I do the next one I will not let the entire head go into the water, which leaves deposits on the head.
I will put a wire across the top of the pot and rest the head on that plus wrap the head with black electrical tape.
BTW, the plating on the Schick Injectors is very thin. Maas is too aggressive. Blue Magic Metal Polish is finer.
BTW, I had to buff the handle to get it back to normal. Plastic polish is on the way. :)

When it is hot just pull the handle straight off.

It would be easy to attach a custom handle.

I seen a custom handle once before. But it looks easy enough I may have to give it a try. Maybe with a pin through the metal stub.

I don't think a metal pin thru the stub would be necessary. I tried using muscle at first but it did not budge.

At least if you were going to use an original "plastic" handle for a replacement I would think that heating up the replacement would expand it to let it slide on and when it cooled again it would make a tight shrink fit.

Depending on the material used for a custom replacement that might or might not work.
