If I'm going to use fibreglass to repair bone scales (I have very detailed instructions from a previous post) is there a particular resin that I should be using, or can I just use whatever?
I've done enough glass to know that there are different kinds, but not enough to really be familiar with them.
The word is Cyanoacrylate like crazy glue or Permabond. Some two part epoxy should fill the bill.
Yes, any of the two part epoxies will work, but use a slow cure epoxy. You'll need something to give you a bit of work time.
You'll also need to weight them down with something to press out the air, and excess epoxy.
Watch that things don't slide apart during this process. You don't want to have to redo this again, especially if it has started to cure.
Once all air and epoxy has squished out, things will stop moving, and you can let it cure in its own.
Just check it occasionally, you'll be fine. :tu

I prefer the T-88 structural epoxy adhesive. A bit pricey, but the best I've ever used for scale repairs.
It doesn't become brittle, like most epoxies, and has better bonding for extreme conditions. It also dries to an amber color, making it perfect for repairing honey horn scales.

System three makes great stuff.
I swear by their G2 line of two part epoxies as well Mike!
Never tried the T-88 to compare price point though.
G2 is also a slow cure, flexible epoxy glue built for the wood spar marine industry.
