Thomas Turner's Ever-Lasting?

Anyone familiar with this blade? It's a 6/8-7/8 wedge, marked Thomas Turner's Ever-Lasting. There are no other markings on the blade. The front side has a groove just below the spine, but the rear is flat. It appears to be Sheffield steel.

The blade, no. Thomas Turner though had a Royal appointment I believe, you know, "Cutlers to her Majesty" sort of thing!

It had wooden scales that appeared to be replacements. Cleaning up nicely and has a pretty good edge before doing a thing to it. Nice, heavy blade.

The only place I've seen one other than this is on BadgerandBlade in the straight razor reviews section. Can't remember who posted it, but they seemed to have excellent things to say about it. Should be a good english blade by my guestimate. Pretty old too I believe...

Thomas Turner & Co. Founded 1802, trademark "Encore" granted 1805.
Cutlers' Company of Hallamshire trade number 5936. Listed in "White's Sheffield Directory" (1837) as 'Turner, Thos. & Co., merchts, steel refiners, and cutlery, saw, file, and edge tool manfrs, Suffolk Works'. In 1919 Turner's became part of Sheffield Cutlery Manufacturers Ltd., an amalgamation led by Needham, Veall & Tyzack (of "Taylor's Eye Witness" fame). The business became bankrupt in 1932 and was bought up by Viners of Sheffield.
Hope this is of some interest.

Thanks! I did see references of "cutlers to her majesty" and "cutlers to his majesty" in a Google search. Also saw that they supplied razors to the Royal Navy.

I have a pair of T.Turner razors. Etched on the blade is "sharp as a serpents tooth". They are 7/8 hollow ground with ivory scales. can anyone tell me more about these/

Welcome to the forum, they will almost certainly be great shavers. I have 1 Thomas Turner and it is amongst my best razors.
