Default It's not perfect, but it is my first...

Here's a picture of the Henckel's before - unfortunately taken before I found the macro mode on my camera.

And here's what it looks like now. Mahogany scales with Brazilian Cherry spacer. I put 5 coats of Tung Oil on. The blade and the scales could both be better, but I've learned a real lot about woodworking in general and razor restoration specifically.

(I need to find the cheesy little tripod I have for this camera.)

That blade looks very nice, I have not seen a Henckels with a barber notch, I like it but I have a thing for barber notch blades. I am still working on my polishing, did you use a buffing wheel?

    Thanks guys.

I'm also a big fan of barber's notches, Cannonfodder. In fact, I picked that blade up to match another Henckel's #9 that I have. (Still looking for a third...) The blade was done with the following progression: 120 grit flapwheel, coarse buff, medium buff, fine buff, 400 handsand, 600 handsand, red dremel compound, maas by hand.

The pictures are actually pretty flattering to the blade. I'm happy with the progress but the pitting was pretty severe and so there's still some visible. I may go back and clean it up further at some point, but I was eager to try scales. Now I just have to take the last step and hone it up.

Thank Glen. I don't believe I was around when your first was done, but I did see the first to come out of the vibratory tumbler dealie and that was some rather amazing results.
