Oil

As I slowly build my razor collection, I want to be sure not to neglect less used straights. That said, what type of oil should I use to lightly coat razors? Any input is appreciated.

Btw, Bill Ellis did an outstanding job restoring and honing my W&B 8/8 Meat Chopper -- wow!!! Pictures forthcoming.

Mineral oil bought in pharmacies (usually where they keep low-profit but necessary items like alcohol, glycerin, peroxide and iodine) for about $2-3 for a bottle that should be good enough for a lifetime of use. It's to be used as a laxative. You can also use it for your hinges, locks, cables, clipper blades etc etc etc.

There are many things, tuff glide, sterol, camilla oil, no rust. As long as its not a petrolium distalite product or an organic oil that could go rancid on you.

I use paraffine oil for example. Pretty cheap.
