Columbia cutlery 6/8 square point engraved blade in bloodwood
I finally got to polish and scale my first engraved blade razor today. This is a Columbia cutlery, Worcewster Mass blade. There is very little hone ware on this blade. The blade is engraved Extra Hollow Ground, Fully Warranted. The blade was in good shape when I got it, no pitting so I did not do any sanding, just a thorough polish job on the buffing wheel. I used a mix of emery compound and 0.5 chromium oxide for the first pass. I have used both by themselves but when I mix the compounds it works quite well. Then I go to white rouge and finally some MASS on the last wheel and then a quick hand cleaning.
I scaled it in bloodwood with a matching wedge. I used 1/16 brass stock for the pins with a stainless backing washer, a brass top washer and the rod.
