Default Stainless Rods/Pins/washers & Rust- Who uses 'em?

I know that some people out there use stainless steel pins/rods for pinning blades and was wondering how this always seems to work out? Does rust in the pivot become a problem since stainless is not actually rust-less? I am also looking at nickel-silver rod for silver looking pins, but they are much more expensive. If you do chime in and say that you've had no problems- after how long using them have you had no problems? Also, have you ever actually taken the razor apart again to see if rust has formed where you can't see it? Thanks!

Nickel silver isn't that expensive, looks good when done right, and is what most old razors were pinned with. (I'm pretty sure)
I've used NS on knives and razors for quite some time... and have had no problems at all with it.

I use the SS hardware from Micro Fasteners depending on the scales, mainly if they are lighter color. It just depends on the overall look when I choose.

I've never had any problems or complaints.
