BellForestProducts.com exotic scale wood

I've been lurking here for quite a while, but I had to register an account to say how great this company is. I took them up on their offer posted on this forum to cut 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" blocks into 1/8" slabs, and I am beyond impressed. I own no woodworking tools (save a dremel and a coping saw), so I had no way to do this myself. While talking with Eric, we worked out several options and prices. I finally decided on getting them cut into approximately six 1/8" thick pieces, flush on one side and rough on the other. I decided on this option because the 'rough' sides (which are not really that rough) will wind up epoxied to brass liners anyway and I got more total pieces than if they were jointed on both sides.

The product was exactly as advertised; top quality that almost exactly mirrored what was pictured on each page. One stick was their Bird's Eye Maple, which is far and away some of the best stuff I've ever seen. The rough sides are nothing more than small bite marks from the bandsaw, the jointed side was flat and smooth, and all boards were perfectly straight.

They also sent my scraps, which consisted of the end pieces which weren't quite 1/8" thick that will serve perfectly as wedges. I received an email from UPS indicating it was on its way the day after I called with my credit card number. The wood was well packaged and arrived in fantastic condition.

I can't recommend this company enough. The product and work are exceptional. The prices of both the wood and the custom milling are fair. If you don't have an exotic wood dealer nearby or don't have your own machine shop, I highly recommend you take a look.
