There are all kinds of tendons in the finger you could have cut, and you won't know until it is completely healed and doesn't work right anymore.
If they get to it quickly, like within a few days, they can repair cut tendons and when it heals it will be as good as new.
I have a friend who cut the other side of his finger and didn't go to the dr. He was able to bend the finger just fine right after the cut, so he thought no damage had happened.
He was completely wrong. after the cut healed, about 3 weeks later, he could bend his finger but could not bend it all the way down.
HIS GRIP WAS PERMANENTLY WEAKENED. He went to the doctor about 6 weeks after the accident when he realized he had a problem, and there was not much they could do for him.
You may not have damaged anything. But you should go to the doctor anyway.
