Good work so far. The spacer/wedge may sit a little wierd because you rounded the inside edge near the tip, but I would say this is an excellent first try.
Keep on truckin.
I gotta agree with Dan on this, an excellent first attempt, I only have one suggestion... I have found that it is much easier to get perfectly straight pin holes if I drill them out before I do any rounding of the edges, in fact before I even split the scales apart, while they are still rubber cemented together, I drill the holes, this is JMHO ....
By the way what wood are you using there??????
I've a question.I've read the post about pinning but I've not understood what kind of material I've to use.
I've thought a brass nail because I like that color.But what kind of washer and the right dimension of it?
:shrug::shrug:
You can get 1/16" rods at Ben Franklin or Hobby Lobby. You can order #0 washers at microfasteners.com!
I respect your "going for it", I bought the wood but keep putting it off.
BTW it doesn't look like you bled too much, but you might want to clean up your cut.

The actual brass rods are a little better than the brass nails (Estrunsion Nails) because, they have not been hardened.... Make sure of two things if you are going to use the nails 1. that you get the pure brass ones, and 2. you will probably need to heat them (anneal) so they peen easy ....
Good luck and feel free to PM me if you have more questions...
When you say you looked at the pinning thread I am assuming that you meant this one

I like the shape of those scales. What wood is that?
I think the wood is called cherry tree.
between wash and rod I think it will be an hard work because shipping in Italy are very expensive and we have the S.I. so to find object in inches is very difficult.
I've seen a lot of razor in the gallery and I think I will use bras for the medimu lenght spacer and tail spacer
:hmmm:
