Question for Australian Members
I was just wondering if any of the Australian members of the board might be able to recommend any suppliers of native Australian hardwoods, or any good resource site with pictures of the various species. I've tried googling for individual species, but a lot of the links that come up are broken.
I don't have any particular species in mind at the moment, just looking to track down some decent information, and hopefully a good supplier.
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
Alex

Hi Alex
Trend Timbers at Windsor seems to have a good range Trend Timbers » Front Page
Local high schools or techs that teach woodwork might be helpful too.“The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.”

While we're on the subject of Australian timber, I was hoping that someone might be able to identify two of the woods on this site for me Xylo-australis: wild woods from Australia. I have tried e-mailing the seller, but have yet to receive a reply (although this is probably down to my sucky e-mail, rather than any fault on the site owner's part.)
Anyhow, the first wood I am interested in is amongst the six wooden birds on the bottom of the page and is the one on the far right at the very bottom. The second wood is on the page linked to from Look Here For a Short List, and is the bottom one of the two knives shown, the lighter wood with the fiddleback figure.
Thanking you in advance.
Kind regards,
Alex
