Micarta handles or G10
Hello all,
I've got a ebay special that needs a new set of scales. I really like the micarta look and used it to a great extent when I used to make knives. However, when looking at my old suppliers, the thinest micarta I could find was 3/8th thick.
My question is does everyone just grind the excess off or is there a supplier for thinner material or is what I think is micarta, in fact G10?
Thanks so much,
Brock

Brock,
you can find micarta or G10 in 1/8 thickness.
G10 is glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin.
Micarta is an epoxy that's strengthened with paper, linen or canvas. They are alternating layers of epoxy which, depending the given choice of material, will give the different texture we see in Micarta.

I changed my search words a bit and found a new knife maker supplier here
Thanks for making me look harder... ; )
