I know there are plenty of websites but I would like to just go to where ever they would be sold.
Is there a type of store that would sell them? How about some Google terms?
Thanks for any help

If not I am sure that they will direct you. It is a common part for model car, and train builders/enthusiast. Ask for 3/16 brass rods.

+1 on the hobby shop. I have also found it at some Ace and True Value Hardware stores.
I've only used 1/16" though.
I have also bought brass tacks that are pure brass but not annealed. They are little harder but I like the results and the pins that I get from them are very solid and stay tight.
Take Care,
Richard
Had no luck with the True Value, Home Depot, and hobby shops here, but I got them from Ace.
My Ace store also had the 1/16" ID brass tubing for making both bearing surfaces to make the hole in the some bigger razors tight and washers.

Richard
A hobby shop that caters to the RC model airplane builders will usually have brass stock. Back when I built 1/32 scale plastic models, I used many a foot of brass and aluminum for details.
Hobby shop. couple bucks for 3/16, 2 rods 3 feet each. same for 3 feet of 3/32. I'm probably set for life.
They didn't have the washers though (actually they had a bunch in the "free" parts box but they were pretty dirty). microfasteners.com. Came in about 4 days.
