*&#& it! Wrong rod, will it work

All right guys, I was trying to find the brass rod, 1/16", local for pinning razor handles. I called local welding supply, they had it, so I ran buy there and bought it, (only comes in bundles, it was about 18 bucks for 26 3ft. pieces). I get home and go to take it out of the car and look closer, it's bronze!!! will that work? Do I have to take it back?

If I have to take it back (or keep it for filling holes on the hotrod) I'll just order online, where do you guys get your bronze and nickel rod? thanks.

Hit up a hobby shop that does RC models.

I got 3, 2 foot sections for like 4 bucks.

I get my 1/16 at Hobby Lobby. I use 3/32 brazing rod for my 3/32 stuff it peens out easily.

Okay Spaz, this is brazing rod, so that was what I was wondering, how it would peen out. my uncle said it would be harder than brass so I wasnt' sure how it would peen out. I also picked up some CA today, I'm planning on posting about it tomorrow when I can see (when I drink if I don't wear my glasses I see double, which is great if I'm looking at the gallery pages ;) )

You could try annealing a bit to make it softer. It's not like annealing brass, though - you don't let it air-cool, you quench it in water. Heat to a dull-red (orange or cherry-red will cause it to melt) and plunge it into sold water. It might end up very soft, but working it will harden it a bit.

Nah, if I have to go to that trouble I'll take it back and order online. Not like I'd have a set finished this week anyways. just too many damn things going on. I cannot believe how projects stack up.
